Xbox One update “Do not distrub” mode

Microsoft has announced a new feature to improve the Xbox One. Not an update on the main component, the enhanced features is done on the Achievements, Game Hubs and Xbox Live social features.

“We’re excited to return in 2018 with new features that impact the way you access your games and Achievements, how you let your friends know whether you’re able to play, and much more. Over the next several weeks, Xbox Insiders will begin to see a variety of cool new features they can interact with and provide feedback on.”

“Sometimes all you want to do is avoid all distractions and focus entirely on your game. We’ll be including a “Do not disturb” online status, which will suppress notifications and let your friends know that you’re not available for another game or activity right now.”

Microsoft introduced a highly desirable feature for gamers to really enjoy their game without any distractions from friends that sends too many messages that can disturb people when you’re playing at night when people around you are sleeping. You can stay online and all notifications will be silenced.

In addition, this update also provides two new widgets on the Xbox Guide that can improve the information with a pop-up. The “Next Achievement” feature provides information on what achievement you will get, how much percentage left to get the achievement, achievement location, and allows users to sort the nearest achievement, rare achievement, high value achievement dan more.

Next is the changes to Xbox Live’s Game Hubs in the Guide menu. Microsoft introduced the “Mini Game Hubs” which allows us to access Achievement or view Group posts without having to open the whole application with full screen. In addition, the Xbox One update also provides additional inactivity shutdown options in Power mode and startup menu. This feature will turn off your Xbox within a few hours when Xbox is not used but but still turned on. And still many updates made by Microsoft to the features of Xbox One!

If you use Xbox One in “Instant On” mode, this update will be automatically downloaded to your console. But if you choose to install manually, you can go to “All Settings -> System -> Console Info & Updates” and check for updates.
