People who use Steam mobile app must know how ugly and outdated the appearance of the app is. Accessing Steam through a mobile app is no different than accessing Steam through the web. Currently, Steam mobile app is just some website wrapper disguised as an app. With that reason, Reddit user Thano9 is trying to create a new look that’s better suited for mobile apps.
Here is how the design looks like
It certainly looks better and does not look like an app created in the early 2000s. The redesign removes the hamburger menu, now the menu appears on the bottom of the screen. It’s easier to reach but personally I prefer that the menu is placed on the top instead of bottom. The button is bigger, it suits the design for mobile app. Overall the redesign looks modern and stylish and still appears functional.
But this is Valve, we know that this changes isn’t going to happen in the near future. Valve is focusing its work towards developing Steam VR, things like this is not on the priority and will be ignored or put aside.
