Despite the tournament losing its major status, OG still decided to attend Galaxy Battles II. Confirmed on their facebook page, OG felt like they owe it to their Filipino fans that have already made plans to attend. Here is their official statement from OG COO Evany Chang.

“It’s unfortunate things panned out the way they did, but the Philippines has always been a special country for OG. It was here we won Valve’s Manila Major and the fire from the Dota fans is truly inspiring. We are excited for the opportunity to return.”
Unfortunately Johan “n0tail” Sundstein and Gustav “s4” Magnusson can’t attend because of logistical reasons, Sébastien “7ckngMad” Debs and Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann will be a replacement for them.
Many teams are withdrawing from the tournament after Valve’s announcement of the major status revocation of the Galaxy Battles II. The tournament had its status and circuit points revoked by Valve, due to strong governmental regulations in the Philippines, raising concerns for the players’ wellbeing and safety. Until this moment 6 teams have pulled out from the tournament leaving only Infamous, OG, TNC Pro Team, LGD.Forever Young, Evil Geniuses, Team Spirit, paiN Gaming, and VGJ.Thunder on the tournament. Despite all this, the event is still planned to begin on January 15.
