Overwatch will be decorated with a new map of Blizzard World which will be released on 23 January. This map has been announced on Blizzcon 2017 and is available in PTR which then finally come to Overwatch for PC users, Xbox One and PS4. Blizzard World is an amusement park-themed map with Blizzard properties from World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo, StarCraft, and Heroes of the Storm. Basically this map contains hybrid assault / payload like Eichenwalde and King’s Row.
“The map and the loot box items will come out together, my guess, and this is not a promise… just trying to be real here, is that any balance changes will drop shortly after. The map/items are already in console certification but the balance changes have not yet been submitted as we are still evaluating them.”
In addition to the new maps, Jeff Kaplan also notes that there will be new characters, maps and more that will enliven Overwatch throughout 2018. The next big thing will be launched around Lunar New Year on February 16th.
