September 17th is the fated day for Star Wars Battlefront 2, where the game itself haven’t release just yet but already attracting public and become headline news everywhere, not because the great graphics, or how good the gameplay is, rather than cause of the controvertion that appeared cause of the multi-player gameplay.

What else if it isn’t about the Microtransaction

where lately received analysis about how to obtain characters, you can read about it in this article, it takes 40 hours to unlock a hero this thread responded by EA that can be seen here. EA received the honor for the most downvoted comment on reddit ever, it was a comment from the EA’s developer that responded to this question “seriously? I paid 80$ to have Vader locked? “ and EA responded the following “The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking dofferent heroes”. By which that said comment received 600K downvote.

Return back to the title

cause of the chaos at Reddit, EA finnaly came out with the solution which is to cut the cost of each hero up to 75%, and it’s finally look like this:

  • Luke Skywalker – 15,000 Credits
  • Darth Vader – 15,000 Credits
  • Emperor Palpatine – 10,000 Credits
  • Chewbacca – 10,000 Credits
  • Leia Organa – 10,000 Credits
  • Iden – 5,000 Credits

In my opinion the problem wont be solved just like this, even though they already cut the prices, when people bought Star Wars game surely they want to play as their favorite hero, EA saw this chance to increase their profit, it’s like they are saying “No! If you wanna play as your favorite character, then give me money! “

If only EA focusing more on how to balance the multi-player and the microtransactions are only for cosmetics, the profits that EA received will still be good, cause Star Wars fans are fanatics so they will buy the game no matter what.

There’s good chance if we cancel our pre-order or not buying it day 1 so EA knows that the consumers wont be fooled that easily.

Gamespot unexpectedly gave on progress review to Star Wars Battlefront 2 that they gave the score 6, where the negative points is as follow:

  • Excessively complex progression system in multiplayer
  • Over reliance on randomized loot drops and microtransactions
  • Cumbersome menus and poor tutorials
  • A promising story weakened by predictable twists

If Gamespot gave that small score, then you also should think twice to buy this game, wait for 3-4 months till the price is down to 30$/40$.
